Kent Police have confirmed that three children arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Leysdown-on-Sea remain in custody.
A 16-year-old girl and two boys aged 14 and 15 were arrested on Sunday following reports of an altercation on Warden Bay Road. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded shortly after 7:00pm BST. The victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.
The incident prompted a large police presence in the area, with specialist officers and a police dog searching for evidence. The investigation extended into Leysdown-on-Sea town centre near the arcade, as officers sought additional clues. On Tuesday afternoon, the Kent Fire & Rescue Service assisted in removing equipment while police dismantled the crime scene cordon.
Kevin McKenna, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, expressed his shock, saying he was “deeply saddened” by the tragedy. Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact them directly.
The case remains under active investigation, with officers appealing to the public for assistance as the community comes to terms with the violent incident.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRcBUe28aqY
